Collected Works of Mary Kline-Misol

Mary is an independent artist from Des Moines, Iowa. She received her BFA And MFA degrees from Drake University. She has shown her work extensively in regional shows and has work in a widening circle of private and public collections in the Midwest. Public collections include: Sprint Corporation, Kansas City, Missouri, The Iowa Clinic, Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Maytag Company, Grinnell College, Equitable of Iowa, Boone Community College in Iowa, Hotel Pattee in Perry, the Sioux City Art Center, Farm Bureau of Iowa, and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.





Mary's imagery revolves around Figurative subjects, Still Life compositions, Botanicals, and Landscapes. Her still lifes incorporate ethnic objects, such as puppets and ceramic figures, that she personifies with their placement in the compositions. Her figurative works often have a portrait like quality. Mary is influenced by Literature, myth and poetry and she draws from each to create her works. Her botanicals include the indigenous flora and fauna that grow and thrive in her woods.
